Christina Rodriguez-Unalt, or "C. Rod. Unalt" illustrates work for the middle-grade and picture book trade markets. As a Hispanic creator, her mission is to contribute to the cultural diversity of the children's book market, and enjoys projects most when they are whimsical and better yet, if just a tad bit on the spooky side. She is working on writing her own stories, which she aims to debut as author/illustrator in the near future. She is also now accepting offers of representation.
Christina is the Head of a BFA Illustration program in New Jersey. She teaches the next generation of professional illustrators how to bring their own authenticity into their work while being culturally responsible.
Christina is an active member of The Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators, and newly, the Co-President of the Children's Book Illustrators Group of New York. When she's not illustrating, writing, or professor-ing, you can find her snuggled up on the couch with a big bowl of popcorn and watching movies with her family.
